The newer custom builds toward Bradley and the west end bring the opposite problem. Multiple intersecting gables, dormers stacked above dormers, bay windows with their own little roofs, and pitches steep enough that a homeowner on a ladder has no business up there in November. On those, restraint is the skill — we map every ridge and valley first and light only the lines that give the house its silhouette.
The condominium and cluster communities off Crocker and Detroit are a third case again: shorter elevations, shared sightlines, and often an association with an opinion. Clean, consistent, warm-white work reads best in those.
Mature tree cover is the quiet Westlake factor. Plenty of homes here sit behind hardwoods that swallow a roofline from the road, and a couple of wrapped trunks near the drive do more than another fifty feet of eave.
