Absolutely STUNNING! The Christmas lights on our house from Light the land are nothing short of magical. My wife told me to get the Christmas lights up this last Christmas and I said “absolutely honey”! I instantly called Light the Land. We spoke with Matthew and he made it super easy to pick colors and get them placed! Thanks Matthew! I hate ladders…

Matt and his crew and nothing but professional and courteous. They were a pleasure to work with in the initial set up and the communication from scheduling to completion was top notch. This is the first year I decided to have a professional install and due to the experience I had with Matt and his team, it is the only place I will look to go to have this kind of service completed. Thanks Matt !!!

Big Colonials, Deep Setbacks, and a Town That Competes

Strongsville is the biggest suburb we work in and one of the easiest to reach — a straight run south from Berea down Pearl Road or out Route 82. Nearly 46,000 people, some of the strongest housing stock on the west side, and a town that genuinely turns out for the holidays around the Commons and the Ehrnfelt Center.

It is also competitive in the best way. Drive the subdivisions off Albion, Whitney or Shurmer in December and you will see whole streets lit. We make dang sure yours is the one people slow down for.

Most of Strongsville’s housing went up from the 1960s onward and it shows in the rooflines: two-story colonials with a front-facing garage gable, generous split-levels, and newer custom builds with multiple intersecting peaks. Lots run roomy, frontage is wide, and houses sit back from the street.

That setback is the whole design problem here. A single line along the eave of a house sitting sixty feet back reads as a thin stripe from the road — technically lit, visually nothing. So we build in layers: the roofline and every peak that gives the house its silhouette, then the garage gable that anchors one end, then the vertical elements that tie it to the ground. Two-story columns wrapped in garland and lit do more on a Strongsville colonial than another forty feet of gutter run.

Then the yard. Wide frontage means the front-yard maples and the foundation beds carry real weight, and the walkway approach fills the gap between the road and the porch. On a half-acre lot, that layered approach is the difference between “they put lights up” and a display that stops traffic.

The newer sections toward Foltz and the Route 82 corridor bring steeper pitches and more complicated roof geometry, where the design decision that matters most is which lines you deliberately do not light. Outline everything on a complex roof and it turns to noise.

Everything is clipped. Nothing is nailed. Every strand hangs on plastic clips sized to your shingles and gutters. Nothing is nailed, screwed or stapled into fascia — ever.

You lease the lights — you never buy them. Light The Land owns them. Design, installation, mid-season service, takedown after the holidays and climate-controlled labeled storage between seasons are all included. Nothing ends up in your garage. Year-to-year, three-year and five-year agreements are available, and the longer agreements come with discounted rates and priority scheduling. If you ever decide not to renew, the lights simply come back to us.

Lifetime warranty on all parts. Anything that fails or wears out gets replaced — the only exceptions being damage from pets, misuse or accidents.

Free same-day estimate. We measure your roofline with satellite software, so you get a real number the same day you call. Nobody has to be home. A deposit and a signed agreement hold your date, and installations start around Halloween.

We are a small local crew out of Berea, now in our third season with more than 50 homes installed, and fully insured. See how the full service works.
