Cleveland proper is a different job from the suburbs, and pretending otherwise is how displays end up looking wrong.
City lots are narrow and deep, houses sit close together and close to the sidewalk, and a huge share of the housing stock predates 1940 — Colonial Revivals and doubles in Old Brooklyn and West Park, century homes and steep-gabled Victorians in Tremont and Ohio City, the tighter streets of Detroit-Shoreway and Kamm’s Corners, and the bigger lakefront-facing homes out toward Edgewater.
Narrow lots make precision matter more, not less. When your neighbour’s house is fifteen feet away, every sag in a line and every uneven bulb spacing is visible from the sidewalk. Strands get measured and cut to your specific rooflines so the run starts and stops exactly where the roof does.
Older housing means older fascia. A lot of Cleveland homes have original wood trim that has been up for a century. Nothing we install is nailed, screwed or stapled into it — every strand hangs on plastic clips sized to your shingles and gutters, and they come off with the lights in January.
Steep pitches and slate. Plenty of the city’s pre-war homes have steep roofs, third floors and original slate or tile. We work on them — but on slate we build the light into the gutter line, the eave edge, the window frames and the porch columns rather than treating the roof field as a walkway.
Porches are the opportunity. Cleveland has some of the best front porches in the country. Wrapping the posts and picking out the railings does more for a city house than another twenty feet of eave, because the porch is what people actually see from the street.
Access. Tight driveways, shared drives and street parking are normal here. We plan for it rather than being surprised by it on install day.

Everything is included. Custom design, installation with commercial-grade Minleon LED lights, service during the season if anything stops working, removal after the holidays, and climate-controlled labeled storage between seasons.
You lease the lights — you never buy them. Light The Land owns them. Nothing goes into your basement or attic, and nothing becomes your problem in year four. Year-to-year, three-year and five-year agreements are available, with discounted rates and priority scheduling on the longer terms.
Lifetime warranty on all parts. If it fails or wears out, we replace it — excluding damage from pets, misuse or accidents.
Free same-day estimate. We measure your roofline by satellite, so you get a real number the same day without anyone walking your property. A deposit and a signed agreement hold your date, and installs start around Halloween.
