Absolutely STUNNING! The Christmas lights on our house from Light the land are nothing short of magical. My wife told me to get the Christmas lights up this last Christmas and I said “absolutely honey”! I instantly called Light the Land. We spoke with Matthew and he made it super easy to pick colors and get them placed! Thanks Matthew! I hate ladders…

Matt and his crew and nothing but professional and courteous. They were a pleasure to work with in the initial set up and the communication from scheduling to completion was top notch. This is the first year I decided to have a professional install and due to the experience I had with Matt and his team, it is the only place I will look to go to have this kind of service completed. Thanks Matt !!!

Nearly an Acre Apiece, and No Two Houses Alike

Richfield sits on some of the highest ground between Cleveland and Akron, and you feel it in December. Wind comes across open ground here in a way it does not in the flatter suburbs, and it is the reason a display in Richfield needs to be built rather than draped.

It is also a community that splits two ways: the village around Suppes Square and the historic district, and the surrounding township with its winding roads and cul-de-sacs off Broadview and Brecksville Road. Different housing, same weather.

The typical Richfield lot runs close to a full acre, and the housing dates largely from the 1970s onward. That combination produces something you do not see in a planned subdivision: ranches, split-levels, Tudor Revivals and big European-influenced customs sitting on the same road, each set back a different distance, each with different tree cover.

That is exactly why a template display fails here. On a low sprawling ranch, the long horizontal eave is the design, and the way to add interest is at ground level — porch, columns, walkway, foundation beds. On a split-level, the offset roof planes give you two natural tiers. On a Tudor or a custom home, the steep multi-gable roof and the entry feature carry the whole thing, and the trick is restraint.

Because Richfield streets curve and end in cul-de-sacs, your house gets seen from an angle far more than head-on. We design for the actual sightline — which usually means the side elevation and the yard trees get more attention than they would on a straight street.

Those trees are the other Richfield factor. Mature oaks and pines are everywhere, and the good ones are far too big for a homeowner’s ladder. A single wrapped evergreen out front does more for a large lot than another hundred feet of roofline. On exposed high ground, secure attachment is not cosmetic either — it is the difference between a display that holds through January and one that is flapping by mid-December.

Everything is clipped. Nothing is nailed. Every strand hangs on plastic clips sized to your shingles and gutters. Nothing is nailed, screwed or stapled into fascia — ever.

You lease the lights — you never buy them. Light The Land owns them. Design, installation, mid-season service, takedown after the holidays and climate-controlled labeled storage between seasons are all included. Nothing ends up in your garage. Year-to-year, three-year and five-year agreements are available, and the longer agreements come with discounted rates and priority scheduling. If you ever decide not to renew, the lights simply come back to us.

Lifetime warranty on all parts. Anything that fails or wears out gets replaced — the only exceptions being damage from pets, misuse or accidents.

Free same-day estimate. We measure your roofline with satellite software, so you get a real number the same day you call. Nobody has to be home. A deposit and a signed agreement hold your date, and installations start around Halloween.

We are a small local crew out of Berea, now in our third season with more than 50 homes installed, and fully insured.

Let’s Light It Up

Richfield has big lots and a community that turns out for its own events — which is a long way of saying nobody here is going to tell you your display is too much. Good. We make dang sure your house is the brightest on the street.
